Grounding accessories
Grounding rods are one of the most important components of electrical systems, the purpose of which is to safely conduct dangerous overvoltage and fault currents to the ground. Properly implemented grounding ensures the stability of the electrical system, reduces the risk of electric shock and protects electrical equipment from lightning, faults and voltage surges. Grounding rods are essential in residential buildings, industrial buildings, cable networks and stand-alone devices.
Earth rods can be made of steel, copper or stainless steel, depending on the environment and technical requirements. Steel rods with a copper coating are common, which ensure good corrosion resistance and long service life even in humid or more aggressive soils. Earth rods can be connected as one long system or combined from several shorter rods to achieve the required earth resistance.
When installing, the type of soil, depth, quality of the connection terminals and cross-section of the grounding conductor must be taken into account. Properly installed grounding reduces the occurrence of dangerous voltage peaks and ensures the reliability of equipment even in difficult conditions. Proper grounding is part of every modern electrical installation and helps prevent damage from both electrical faults and lightning strikes.
