Evacuation lights
Escape route lights are part of a critical safety system that provides visibility and guidance in the event of a power outage, fire or other emergency. Their function is to mark escape routes, exits and safety zones, allowing people to leave the building quickly and safely. Escape route lights are required in public buildings, production facilities, offices and apartment buildings where mandatory safety standards are set.
LED-based escape lights ensure low energy consumption and a long service life. Many models use a built-in battery that is automatically activated in the event of a power failure and allows the light to operate for 1-3 hours, depending on the model. This ensures escape route marking even in completely dark environments.
Evacuation luminaires can be equipped with directional signs and pictograms that indicate the direction of the exit and help people quickly orient themselves. The protection class (for example, IP40, IP65) determines how well the luminaire withstands moisture, dust and environmental influences — this allows the luminaire to be used both indoors and, if necessary, in harsher conditions.
Properly installed evacuation lighting is an important part of meeting a building's fire safety and security requirements, helping to ensure the safety of building occupants in all situations.
